Starlight is the only one who spotted that the trouble starts with the fact that “practices” is the wrong word and “exercises” is much better. Look them up in a dictionary if you doubt it. However, “at a level appropriate for you” would dodge both the ill-defined “suitable” and the rather arch “proficiency.”
