How to go about getting a job at Nintendo?

I am a programmer to be and have been wondering for the longest time how i can get a job working on game design with nintendo. It’s been my dream since i was in elementary school. I hope one day i’ll get to work on a zelda game with Shigeru Miyamoto. I know it’s a childish dream but im willing to do almost anything to achieve it. I’m in High School now and in AP Computer Science. I’m planning to enroll in a Interactive Game Design class next school year. If anyone could please tell me if I’m on the right track to fulfilling my dream and how to get a job at Nintedno.

AP Computer Science, nice. I think you’re on the right track. However, for Computer Science, you may want to go to a University first and then go to a Game Design school like Fullsail or Digipen.

Also, if you haven’t already, you should start learning how to code games now. Create mods of your favorite games. Mods are popular with the Half Life series and the Unreal games/engine.

Your goals are high and there is nothing wrong with that. But start small now and plan out your way to the top. Nintendo being the top.

It’s not childish at all for this to be your dream. I didn’t know I wanted to make games for a living (still trying to get a job myself) until I was 24 years old. You’re still in high school? Don’t worry about it. You have plenty of time to perfect your programming/game design skills. Just stay positive, network with as many people as you can (which you’re doing now) and ask questions. Go to local game community events.. something like Comic-Con, E3, GDC, PAX etc.. put your face out there. Get involved with people just like you and try creating your own game. Remember, start small. Small as in the simple game “pong.”

I’m giving you my blog address. I have some game school and game student resources on my blog (mostly for game art students though) so feel free to check out what I have and pay attention to the schools I listed. Check them out and see which one is right for you. I don’t claim to know everything but I share my personal experience going to a game art and design school. Hopefully you gain some insight.

The FUNDAMENTALS OF MATHEMATICS, 9th Edition offers a comprehensive review of all basic mathematics concepts and prepares students for further coursework. The clear exposition and the consistency of presentation make learning arithmetic accessible for all. Key concepts are presented in section objectives and further defined within the context of How and Why; providing a strong foundation for learning. The predominant emphasis of the book focuses on problem-solving, skills, concepts, and applications based on "real world" data, with some introductory algebra integrated throughout. The authors feel strongly about making the connection between mathematics and the modern, day-to-day activities of students. This textbook is suitable for individual study or for a variety of course formats: lab, self-paced, lecture, group or combined formats. Though the mathematical content of FUNDAMENTALS OF MATHEMATICS is elementary, students using this textbook are often mature adults, bringing with them adult attitudes and experiences and a broad range of abilities. Teaching elementary content to these students, therefore, is effective when it accounts for their distinct and diverse adult needs. Using Fundamentals of Math meets three needs of students which are: students must establish good study habits and overcome math anxiety; students must see connections between mathematics and the modern day-to-day world of adult activities; and students must be paced and challenged according to their individual level of understanding.
