1) add 6 to both sides (your trying to get x by itself) you get -1/9x=-12 then divide both sides by -1/9 and you get x=108 to divide -12 by -1/9 find reciprocal of -1/9 (flip it over) then multiply it -9 times -12=108
2)subtract 4 from both sides to get -x/5=-20 then multiply both sides by 5 to get -x=-100 then divideboth sides by -1 (just flip signs so -x becomes x and -100 becomes 100) final answer is x=100
